A bit of a rewind in time. I found these pictures on my camera from a short ski tour on the Glyders in North Wales. Plan A was for a walk with Gerald and his freind Paul, but on arrival at Ogwen Cottage it was fairly quickly apparent that there was more than enough snow to have the skis out. Luckily I had them in the car!
Skined up onto the Gribin above Lyn Bochlwyd where Gerald and Paul joined me (and the dog!) on foot.
Having strapped skis onto my pack we then scrambled up the upper section of the Gribin. Skis back on again and I headed over Glyder Fawr.
Chickened out part way down the steep descent to the top of the Devils Kitchen and walked the rest. Then dropped back down on foot into Lyn Idwal before heading back to the cars. Great day!

Horses and Snowshoes

After feeding our collection of equines tonight I went for a little walk, through the fields and neighbouring woods. Out of curiosity I used my snowshoes and to my surprise they di make a huge difference to the effort needed despite the fact that there was a foot of snow at most. No dog with me though as has been confined to quarters until his broken toe has mended.

Tour of the Colline Rouge (aka Redhill, Worcs)

Still snowing here and with an extra 2 inches of fresh snow since last night I took the chance at lunchtime to put my skis on and head down the road for a little min-tour of our local hill (Redhill). Got a three good runs in carving some nice telemarked Ss before heading home to get some work done :-) Covered about 6km in all. The hill itself probaly only has about 50m of elevation on it. Still better than nothing and still worth it.

Dogs and Blackbirds

Buzz chased after a blackbird yesterday. Dived into a bush after it. When he came out he was limping! Some blackbird! Vet tommorrow :-(

Tobogans

Another attempt at a blog! Skived off today for an hours toboganning. Turns out that "someone" had managed to pass 40 years without having been on a toboggan.
